Are you excited about coming to study in Canada, and a little nervous about what the experience holds in store? The International Student Mentorship Program at Nipissing University may be the solution.

The International Student Mentorship Program (ISMP) is run by the International Initiatives Office at Nipissing University. This is a student-volunteer program that connects incoming International students with current Nipissing student mentors. Some of our mentors have studied abroad, while some may be interested in travelling in the future, but they’re all keen to share their knowledge about the Nipissing community, and of course, their school pride! Our student mentors are trained as experts on all supports and services available at the University — both personal and academic. Mentors are the ultimate resource to help guide you through your Canadian academic journey.

Student mentors are keen to learn about the cultures of all International students. They organize potluck meals, outdoor activities and sightseeing trips in an effort to provide safe, welcoming spaces for networking opportunities. Joining in on these events is a great way to meet other students, share experiences and ask questions. Student mentors are available throughout the year to address any issues and answer questions that arise.

The International Student Mentor Program is a great way to get involved in campus life, meet new people and learn more about Canadian culture.
