Vancouver Film School Students Create Virtual Tesla Training Centre

You’ve fought your way through zombie hoards and collected treasure aboard pirate ships while immersed in virtual reality games — but have you completed VR on-the-job training? Tesla is an industry-leader for electric vehicles and sustainable energy, but their innovation doesn’t stop there.

Tesla partners with the Vancouver Film School

Tesla partners with staff and students in Vancouver Film School’s (VFS) VR/AR Design & Development program every year to explore the different ways VR/AR can be used for training, safety, and design scenarios.

Most recently, VFS students created a VR/AR training centre as a way for Tesla to train their staff. This simulation includes a virtual factory tour, parts assembly and tool usage, and even mobile equipment operation (this is how to make learning fun!). This is an incredible technological leap forward that will improve staff training and expand the ways in which we use virtual & augmented reality.

VR/AR Design & Development program

Vancouver Film School’s VR/AR program is an 8-month training program where students learn everything from VR/AR market trends and how to create 2D and 3D assets, to developing their own VR or AR application. This program prepares them for a career in the industry as developers, designers, project managers, and more.

We’re thrilled to keep exploring and creating ground-breaking work with Tesla, as these innovative developments with augmented and virtual reality hugely widen the career paths available for students as the industry continues to grow.
