So, grab a notebook (or a cup of coffee), and let’s get started!
Step 1: Explore and pick your perfect program
The first step is finding the right program that excites you. York University offers over 150 undergraduate programs, each packed with opportunities for hands-on learning, innovative courses, and future career potential.
Use our Program Search Tool to explore programs by areas of interest, faculty or campus.
Consider:
- What are my interests and strengths?
- What career opportunities align with this program?
- What courses will I study, and do they excite me?
Insider Tip: Can’t decide between two programs? Apply to both! York University allows you to apply to multiple programs in one go.
Step 2: Review admission requirements
Now that you’ve picked your programs, it’s time to check what you need to apply.
York’s admission requirements are divided into general requirements (for all programs) and program-specific prerequisites. Here’s what to look for:
General admission requirements: Minimum grades, transcripts, and proof of high school completion.
Program-specific requirements: Some programs may need:
- Prerequisite courses (e.g., math for business programs).
- Minimum grades in certain subjects.
- A supplementary application — like a video interview, portfolio, or audition.
Make sure to check our admission requirement tool, so you know exactly what’s expected before you apply.
Step 3: Submit your application
Once you’ve got your requirements in hand, it’s time to apply. York University makes the application process simple by offering two ways to submit:
It’s important to stay on top of these application deadlines to ensure your application gets considered:
Program start | International student deadline |
Fall 2025 (September) | February 3, 2025 |
Winter 2025 (January) | November 15, 2024 |
Summer 2025 (May) | April 1, 2025 |
Applications are still welcome after the deadline, as long as space remains available in your program of interest. Competitive programs like the Schulich School of Business BBA have firm deadlines. Don’t miss them!
