If you’re looking for gorgeous and expansive wilderness, friendly and inclusive classmates, plenty of unique experiences year-round and all the services you could ever need, postsecondary education in Canada will not disappoint you. There is no better place to explore and enjoy all that Canada has to offer than at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario.

When you think of Canada, you might picture winter and lots of snow. If that’s what you’re looking for, we’ve got it! You can ski and snowboard at Laurentian Ski Hill, snowshoe on our groomed campus trails, or build a snowman with your new roommates. Lake Nipissing freezes solid in the winter, so you can even try ice fishing!

During the warmer months, you can catch some rays or swim at one of the many sandy beaches. We have over 20km of hiking and biking trails right in our backyard on campus, so it’s easy to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Catch a concert at the annual Summer in the Park Festival or visit the weekly outdoor farmers market where you can grab some fresh local groceries or handmade crafts.

If spending time outside isn’t for you, don’t worry! Nipissing has a vibrant campus community with tons of clubs and on-campus events. Catch a varsity sports game at the RJ Surtees Athletic Centre, attend a guest lecture from a visiting expert, or curl up with a good book at the Harris Learning Library.

Adjusting to a new environment in Canada may seem scary, but the International Student Mentorship Program at Nipissing will help make you feel right at home. The university experience isn’t just about attending classes and studying. Utilize all the resources available to you to experience this beautiful country outside of the classroom.
