Arriving at York University

There are many things to plan when you decide to study in a new country. It’s a very exciting experience and York University will help make this transition as smooth as possible. Health care and wellness

York University is proud to offer our international students University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). UHIP is a mandatory basic coverage plan that helps students cover health-related expenses. Additionally, York University has an on-campus walk-in clinic which gives you access to medical care a few steps away from your classes.

York University also offers services to help with stress management and mental health for international students. There are a variety of services and resources, such as Student Counselling & Development and the York University Psychology Clinic, that can support your academic and overall personal success.

Immigration support

Financing your education

YI has created tools to help you budget for your education. Depending on the cost of your program tuition and your living arrangements, overall expenses can vary from student to student. To support these costs, York University offers scholarships, bursaries and awards specifically for international students. This funding can help you off-set the costs of your studies and can be obtained based on financial need or special merit.

In addition to scholarships, bursaries and awards, study permit holders may qualify to work on-campus or off-campus. This is a great opportunity for international students to fund their educations and other expenses that come with living away from home.
