While York University's Keele campus reflects the hustle and bustle of Toronto, the University has various quiet spaces to get some work done on campus. We know how important the academic aspects of this experience are to you, and we're happy to support you in your goals. Below are the top five spots to study on campus:

Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Building

With multiple floors and designated study spots, the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Building is considered one of the top study spots at the Keele campus. When you enter the building, you will see the TEL Café; this is a great place to study in a group or on your own, with several open areas to have group discussions and quiet nooks available to all students.

Steacie Science and Engineering Library

The Steacie Science and Engineering Library is an ideal study spot. It is usually quiet, so you will likely not face any challenges finding a comfortable place to study — especially leading up to and during the exam period. There are many areas to pick from, whether it is for individual or group studying.

There are also many private group rooms available for students to book ahead of time. Steacie also offers many computers available for students to use as well as a vast variety of books on the main and lower level.

William Small Centre Computing Commons

The William Small Centre Computing Commons offers multiple group rooms and has plenty of available computers, making it the ideal study spot for students who need a computer for assignments or are on the lookout for a private group study room. It is usually quiet, which is perfect during busy seasons. Also, this spot is conveniently located right next to a Canadian staple: Tim Hortons!

The Life Sciences Building

With its Lego-looking outside, the Life Sciences building is truly a hidden gem on the Keele campus. One of the newer buildings at York, its long and wide hallways walled with full windows and cushioned seats make it a nice spot to open a laptop and just relax or work for a few hours. It is quiet, new, and only a five-minute walk away from that Tim Hortons at William Small Centre mentioned above, so you can grab a well-deserved snack while you're at it.

Nellie Langford Rowell Women's Studies Library

It might not look like a big space, but the Nellie Langford Rowell Women's Studies Library is a hidden jewel. It is quiet, small, and with tall bookshelves surrounding you, you're bound to get some much-needed work done. Not to mention it is not the most popular place, which means you have more private space to stretch out and relax.
