December 12, 2006 - The University of Saskatchewan understands that the application process can be hectic. Let's run through some frequently asked questions to make sure your application to the U of S goes smoothly.

Q. Is it too late to apply to the U of S?
A. Not at all!
For students who want to begin in September 2007, applications to most colleges are due May 1, and documentation is due January 1.

Q. How do I apply to the U of S?
A. Start by going online: explore.usask.ca/admission.
Our admissions Web site for prospective students is a great place to start. Here, you will find admission requirements, application forms for admission and a grade reporting feature.

Q. To what program should I apply?
A. That all depends on your interests!
The U of S has over 100 areas of study in 13 Colleges. What you should choose depends on your interests and career goals.

Remember: no matter what program you select in the beginning, you aren't stuck with it! If necessary, you can make changes to your application up until the application deadline by visiting explore.usask.ca/admission/application/changes.php.

Also, it is a good idea to enter your second choice into the application form, giving yourself a solid back-up plan.

Q. Are there resources to help me through the application process?
A. Definitely!
At explore.usask.ca/admission/application/guide, you will find our Application for Admission Guide that outlines some terminology used in the application form. It also runs through the detailed instructions for each section of the application form.

Q. How long does it take to process an application?
A. 4-6 weeks
But if you apply early, you may hear from us sooner!

Q. Can I check the status of my application?
A. Of course!
If you apply online, you can check the status of your application at explore.usask.ca. Once your status reads "Decision Made," you can expect a letter in the mail detailing that decision within a few days.

Q. So, I've applied - what do I do next?
A. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1) Apply for awards. There is plenty of money out there to help finance your education, and the best place to start looking for it is explore.usask.ca/moneymatters/awards.

2) Arrange for your final transcripts to be sent to the U of S directly from your provincial government's Department of Education.

3) Check out our online to-do list for applicants at explore.usask.ca/admission/steps. It will run you through everything from finding a place to live to registering in classes to signing up for U of S events.
