| Description: | This program is an excellent opportunity for international learners to work toward admission into their Red Deer College (RDP) program of choice by improving their English skills. Along with advancing their English language capabilities, students in this program will learn other skills to succeed in post-secondary education, such as research methods, critical thinking, academic integrity, and how to access the technologies, services, and supports available to RDP international students.
Completing RDP's English for Academic Purposes provides a pathway for international students to obtain English language proficiency skills to continue their studies in an academic program at RDP. Depending on the academic program, conditional admission may be possible. To gain admission into an academic program, international applicants must demonstrate that they meet both the English language proficiency requirements and academic entry requirements. As part of the RDP's English for Academic Purposes program, students will complete English 95, which will be accepted as the academic entry requirements of "ELA 30-1" required for most RDP programs.
If Conditional Admission is possible for your desired academic program, your Letter of Acceptance for the English for Academic Purposes program will also indicate your conditional admission for your future academic program. |
