Description:Graduate students in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics have the opportunity to make a substantive contribution to solving important scientific and societal problems in a wide variety of areas. In addition to our Masters and PhD programs in Mathematics and Statistics, we participate in the Collaborative Specializations in Artificial Intelligence and One Health; and the Bioinformatics and Biophysics Graduate Programs. Master’s students can choose to complete their degree by thesis or by major research project. A master’s thesis typically requires 1-2 years to complete and a master’s major research project typically requires 1 year to complete.
