|Description:||The Workplace and Adult Learning Specialization is designed for professionals interested in a leadership role in creating and shaping adult learning environments in their workplace. Work in this area will enhance the skills of professionals, managers and administrators in corporate and management consulting, college teaching, public service, industrial and educational administration roles.
There are two distinct routes in the Workplace and Adult Learning Specialization: a) The course-based Master's program (MEd) is an online program designed to provide practitioners with the knowledge and skills to take a leadership role in working with adults in a variety of contexts. A core course is offered on-campus for two weeks in July (Summer Institute). Other courses are offered via online delivery during the academic year. The program is designed to be completed in two years of part-time study. b) Thesis-based degrees (MA, EdD and PhD) in WAL are commonly interdisciplinary in focus, e.g. adult learning theory, marketing higher education, learning in the workplace. These degrees are normally pursued on-campus.
