Description:This program gives students the expertise necessary to design heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems in modern buildings. Graduates are able to design and maintain those systems as well as the necessary control mechanisms, in order to have healthy, comfortable environments in all types of buildings. Students apply theory and principles of engineering to develop, operate and test the electrical, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection systems along with the HVAC&R operations of any modern building. As part of their program, students do internships with various companies, and visit large mechanical systems such as those of the Biodôme, Complex Desjardins or Place Ville Marie.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

Admission to the College is on the basis of the Quebec Secondary School Diploma (Diplôme d’études secondaires); or the Quebec Diploma of Vocational Education (Diplôme d’études professionnelles) with Secondary 5 first and second languages as well as Secondary 4 Mathematics; or equivalent scholarity completed outside the province.

Math TS 564-426 or SN 565-426 (previously Math 406); Math TS 406 or SN 406; Math 201-016-50; SN 4171, 4172 & 4173 or TS 4161, 4162 & 4163 or Math 416 and MTH 4101 and 4105 – 4111, or MTH 4101 – 4111, inclusive. Science STE 558-404 or SE 558-402; Physical Science 982-003-50; Physical Science SCT/TSC 4061, 4062, 4063 & 4064 or PSC 4010, 4011, 4012.
