Description:Early Childhood Education Certificate is a certificate program. It provides knowledge and skill development in establishing a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children. You will develop an understanding of children's varying physical, social, cognitive, creative and emotional development. You will also develop an understanding of the importance of play as a vehicle for learning.

The program meets the license requirement ECE II classification of the Child Care Regulations, 2001, Early Learning and Child Care Branch, Ministry of Education.

Admission Requirements

Grade 12 with English Language Arts A30 and English Language Arts B30 and an English Language Requirement # Applicants who do not possess the academic qualifications for a program may be admitted if evidence of probable success can be established through a special admission assessment. Interested individuals should still apply. Applicants are automatically considered for special admission. However, some specific admission requirements may still need to be met.
Additional Admission Requirements:
    Accepted applicants are required to provide evidence of a criminal records check prior to entering the practicum component of the program. At the discretion of the practicum agency, you may be declined access to a clinical or work placement based on the contents of the criminal records check. The cost of the criminal records check is your responsibility. Your immunization record is required for your practicum placement.
