Description:BCIT invites you to join one of the most unique educational models in Canada. In the time it takes to do a typical university degree, you can get two academic credentials; a Diploma in Fish, Wildlife and Recreation (FWR) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Ecological Restoration.

The two-year FWR Diploma provides you with hands-on training in managing fisheries, wildlife, and parks and recreational lands. Then, if you wish to continue, add world-class applied training to complete a Bachelor’s Degree focusing on restoring the numerous damaged ecosystems that exist across British Columbia, Canada, and around the world.

Admission Requirements

  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade11 Precalculus  or  Grade11 Principles of Mathematics  or  Grade11 Applied Mathematics  or  Grade11 Foundations for College Mathematics (MAP4C) 
  •  Grade11 Chemistry  or  Grade11 Physics  or  Grade11 Earth and Space Science  or  Grade11 Geology 
  •  Grade11 Biology 
Applicants must have: two years of education in English in an English-speaking country with one of the following: English 12 (67%) or 3.0 credits of post-secondary English, humanities or social sciences (67%) from a recognized institution; one of the following: Biology 11 (67%), Biology 12 (67%) (Biology 11 is strongly preferred due to the coverage of topics of Ecology, Taxonomy, Evolution, Plant Biology, and Animal Biology); one of the following: Principles of Mathematics 11 (67%) or Applications of Mathematics 11 (73%) or Pre-Calculus 11 (67%) or Foundations of Mathematics 11 (73%); one of the following with minimum high school grade 11 (60%): Chemistry (preferred) or Physics or Applied Physics (preferred) or Earth Science or Geology or Recognized Resource Science 12 or Geography or Forestry.
