Description:	Developed in partnership with the Anishnabe Education and Training Circle, Shki-Miikan Foundation year is designed to enhance the Native student's sense of cultural identity; develop a solid academic base; assess education / career options; and develop self-management skills. Cultural teachings and smudging are integrated daily throughout each academic semester in social activities, individual program courses, and Traditional Teacher / Elder visits.

Prerequisites:*	These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent is required. It is strongly recommended that applicants have grade 12 English at the General level; it will be used in selection. Applicants who are 19 years of age or over by the first day of classes, and who lack the academic admission qualifications, may be considered for entrance as mature students. Some programs accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis after the deadline. Applicants should contact the school for more information.
