|Description:||Lights. Camera. Action! Come and learn from industry professionals at CapU?s state-of-the-art Bosa Centre for Film and Animation. Combine practice with theory to create magic.
We'll give you all the tools to build your technical knowledge and creative confidence. You'll learn the theory and history of cinema and develop your critical thinking skills. At the same time you'll work through and gain skills in the different technical departments.
Your collaboration with fellow students on a variety of projects will give you the chance to try out different filmmaking roles as you decide on your focus. You'll be working with up-to-date professional equipment that includes an 8000 sq. ft. sound stage, 3D camera rigs and a 3D editing lab.
Starting in Fall 2021, students in the Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts (BMPA) program will have the option to pursue a concentration in Film Producing. This new offering allows students to graduate with specific, career-ready skills to enhance their job search and career trajectory specifically in producing and film business affairs.

Applicants are required to have high school graduation (Grade 12). Applicants are also required to have English Studies 12, English 12 or English 12 First Peoples or equivalent with a minimum average of 75% on all Grade 12 high school subjects.

Applicants are required to attend a personal interview, submit a letter of intent, and complete an entrance questionnaire.
Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.
