Our graduates have careers in a diverse range of industries, from editors in content marketing and advertising agencies to web designers in leading-edge design firms, and art directors in the fashion industry. Every day, Digital and Print Publishing graduates apply in their careers the skills they learned during our comprehensive, 12-month program. The Digital and Print Publishing program provides hands-on experience with industry-standard tools: HTML & CSS, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and WordPress.

A vital part of the Digital and Print Publishing program is the production of a new issue of Pacific Rim Magazine (PRM) and the website. PRM is an award-winning, 64-page publication distributed to all Globe and Mail subscribers in British Columbia. hosts over twenty years of student work. Each issue of PRM is edited, written, illustrated, designed and coded by our students. The goal of our program is for students to graduate with professional and diverse portfolios they can proudly present to employers.

Admission Requirements


These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

    Applicants are required to have completed BC Grade 12 or equivalent, or be 19 years of age.

    Application Notes : Applicants will be required to provide proof of English language proficiency in one of the following ways: English Studies 12, or Literary Studies 12, or English First Peoples 12, or equivalent (BC English 12, BC English Literature 12, or BC English First Peoples 12) with an 80% or better; IB English A1 (Higher Level) with a score of 5 or higher; AP English Composition or Literature with of score of 4 or higher; LET level 3 or better; LPI (Language Proficiency Index) with a minimum of 26 on the essay and one of 5 in English usage, 5 in sentence structure or 10 in reading comprehension; IELTS 6.5; Duolingo English Test with a score of 110; TOEFL - internet-based (IBT) score of 80 with a minimum 18 in Listening, 18 in Speaking, 20 in Reading, and 20 in Writing; TOEFL - paper-based 550 with TWE (Essay) score of 4.0; CAEL 70 overall with essay 70; or successful completion of a post-secondary English or Communications course with a minimum "C" grade for which Langara offers university-transfer credit OR ENGL 1120 at Langara College with a minimum "C" grade.
