Description:If you want to jump in the seat of some serious heavy metal, then the Heavy Equipment Operator program is for you. Canada’s construction and oil/gas industries employ an arrangement of giant heavy machinery operators. These machines are designed to move extreme weight with raw power. Some of equipment may include a skid steer, compactor, loader, dozer, grader and excavator. The Heavy Equipment Operator program is constructed to ensure entry level operators attain a professional standard in a twelve week program, followed by a two week practicum. We will teach you to get the job done efficiently without compromising you and your colleagues safety on the site.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    High School Diploma or its equivalent.
    Test Scores:
    • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 60] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 80] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550]
    Application Notes : Proof of age (18 years or older). A copy of an unrestricted class 5 Driver’s License. A recent copy of a Driver’s Abstract and a completed Personal Profile.

    Academic Upgrading and High School Applicants: Applicants currently in high school or who are completing academic upgrading must submit proof of enrollment and any available interim/midterm marks. Final marks must be submitted within one month following the completion of the course(s) and no later than one month prior to the program start date.

    Alternate Admission Option: Alternate Admission status may be offered to applicants who have not or will not complete one of the academic admission requirements. Please see website for details.
