Description | Through this program, students will learn to teach children and adults with visual disabilities to move safely, effectively, gracefully, purposefully, and independently; develop specific techniques to identify the particular needs and interests of individual clients; experience practical learning under blindfold or low vision simulation; and observe, practice, assess, and develop individual plans for a variety of clients at an educational or rehabilitation agency. In addition, students participate in a supervised, 12-week comprehensive (full-time) clinical fieldwork placement.
Our graduates build careers in social service agencies, school boards, residential rehabilitation facilities, and insurance companies. Instructor for Blind and Visually Impaired has a 100% graduate employment rate. This is only full-time, English speaking program of its kind in Canada. | | |
