DescriptionThis program is designed to include the foundations for professional practice in school-age child care settings. Courses will cover topics such as child development, inclusive practice, working with families, interpersonal communications and emergent curriculum for school-age children. A holistic approach to working with children provides the context for the coursework with added emphasis on recreation, play and social development. Students must complete one 120-hour practicum in a licensed school-age care setting or recreation program.
