Prerequisites Notes | Applicants must be a minimum 18 years of age, hold an unrestricted Class 5 drivers license (will except “A” glasses restriction) with few recent traffic violations, be a registered Saskatchewan northerner and be able to pass a SGI medical examination.
Along with the application you must submit a brief resume with 3 work-related references, a hand-written letter explaining why you would make a good truck driver, a copy of your latest school marks, a driver’s abstract dated no earlier than January 2008. Do not delay; apply early for your abstract. Available from your local SGI office, $10.00 fee. | | |

Description | Students will train for the written and practical tests required to achieve a class 1A driver’s license with air brake endorsement. In preparation for the trucking industry, students will train extended days plus some nights and weekends. Several graduates may be hired by Northern Resource Trucking and receive 10 months of on-the-job training and permanent employment. All training is based in La Ronge and Saskatoon. | | |
