Description | The Pre-Media program is designed for anyone curious about the many careers available in communication arts. Students interested in working with magazines, newspapers, radio, television, feature writing, event planning, corporate communications, or the production of books, brochures, pamphlets and advertisements will learn some of the fundamental skills needed to work in fields such as journalism, public relations or advertising.
In one year, students learn effective written, verbal and visual communication skills, gain insight into career paths related to communication arts, and develop an understanding of how to do well in further studies. The goal of the program is to instill the knowledge and disposition required for successful study in a specific communication arts discipline.
What makes Pre-Media unique is the opportunity students have to learn the fundamental skills used in communication arts careers and to choose courses related to their personal interests and goals.
