Prerequisites Notes | Applicants for this training must be registered apprentices with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU), and must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT).
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, at least 16 years of age
- A solid foundation in Mathematics, Language Studies, and Sciences

Description | Through this program, students will acquire the job-specific skills of an apprentice designed according to ministry guidelines and specialized General Motors training; learn about major automotive assemblies, engines, running gear, chassis, electrical, and fuel systems; and develop craftsmanship, problem-solving skills, personal pride, desirable work attitudes, and a keen sense of responsibility in public and personal safety.
In-class learning will give students theoretical knowledge during four eight-week terms for a total of 32 weeks. Upon successful completion of the program, students may work as automotive service technicians, automotive mechanical installers and servicers, and motor vehicle inspectors and testers. | | |
