Prerequisites NotesApplicants are required to have: a B.C. secondary school Dogwood Diploma or equivalent (ABE Provincial, Advanced), or mature students, 19 years or older, who have successfully completed at least two of these courses: HSER 120, HSER 200, ENGL 105, ENGL 170, HIST 103, MATH 105 or the lab science elective. Applicants must also have completion of the prerequisite for MATH 105, and completion of the prerequisite for ENGL 105.

DescriptionUFV's two-year Aboriginal Culture and Language Support (ACLS) diploma is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives required for employment as an Aboriginal support worker in both public or First Nation-operated band schools.

As an Aboriginal support worker, your unique understanding of — and sensitivity to — the values, beliefs, and needs of students' Indigenous communities and heritage, as well as the needs of the education system, makes you a valuable asset to the school in which you work.
