DescriptionThe Family Child Care Certificate Program is designed to meet the professional development needs of caregivers interested in or already working in the field of Family Child Care. Parents may also choose to take the program for information purposes and parenting strategies.

Family Child Care centres in British Columbia are a choice for many families and require skilled and professional caregivers. While care giving in a home-based setting is similar to providing care for family members and raising children, there are many situations that necessitate increased awareness and knowledge of ECE topics. Those topics include: the inclusion of children who require extra support, managing a child care facility, knowledge of legislation and regulations, and program planning and guidance for multiple children with an age range from birth to age 12.
