DescriptionThe Bachelor of Physical Education Studies is a three-year undergraduate degree. The BPES provides students with in-depth knowledge of the field of physical education and with the fundamental and specialized skills required by physical educators.

Teaching Physical Education: The Teaching Stream is designed for students who want to pursue a teaching career and advance to a Bachelor of Education degree. This program offers students an opportunity to receive certification in coaching through the National Coaching Certification Program in Theory and Sport as well as specific Technical certification in a variety of sports. Mathematics 40S (Applied or Pre-Calculus) is strongly recommended for this stream.

Exercise Science and Fitness Stream: This stream is designed for students who want to pursue careers in the field of Exercise Science and allied disciplines such as: Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Personal Training and Fitness Leadership. Students may also pursue a Bachelor of Education following the completion of the degree. This program offers students an opportunity to receive provincial and nationally recognized exercise training certifications, which includes: Personal Training (Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology) and Fitness Leadership (Manitoba Fitness Council). Biology 40S and Applied Math 40S are strongly recommended for this stream.

Recreation and Sport Management Stream: This stream is designed for students who want to pursue careers in the fields of recreation and sport. This steam does not lead to a Bachelor of Education.
