DescriptionBuilding design is increasingly focused on intelligent, energy efficient and high performance technologies that improve energy performance and reduce building operating costs. Today's complex building systems require trained technicians who can increase the operating effectiveness of larger buildings in a safe, healthy and sustainable manner.

This College Certificate continues to build on the knowledge and skills from the Building Environmental Systems (BES) Operator Class II program. Students focus on the design of air systems and analyzing energy efficiency in large buildings. The relevant codes, acts, standards and regulations are applied and emphasized throughout the program. Successful graduates of Class I can apply for the Systems Maintenance Designation (SMT) from the Building Owners and Managers Institute of Canada (BOMI).
