Health Studies: Health Policy at the University of Toronto Scarborough

Become an expert on the structure and effectiveness of health-care systems, and gain a strong foundation in crises and management, public policy, caregiving and pressing issues in health care for marginalized communities. Our students get hands-on in a range of experiential learning and research opportunities at major institutions in the health sector across Toronto. And you can graduate with paid, real-world work experience in our co-op option, which offers two four-month placements and gives you a competitive edge when entering the workforce.

In Health Policy, you’ll examine the character and consequences of different health-care systems, public health policies, and governmental and civil society responses to current health-related social issues. You’ll analyze the processes and factors that shape health and wellbeing across a range of disciplines, from biological, behavioural, and environmental forces to the cultural factors that influence health outcomes through tradition, ritual, customs and concepts of health.
