  • This graduate certificate provides students with a unique view on business from a global perspective and helps them gain specialized knowledge in product management, marketing, sales and negotiation, supply chain management and new product development.
  • Develop and improve products or services, conduct market research, analyze consumer preferences and trends to expand into global markets through interactive business simulations.
  • Courses are designed and led by industry professionals with experience working in international trade, investment, and product management who share their professional perspectives and industry insights.
  • Compliments prior education in various fields including technology, marketing, sales and research and development.
  • Create an industry portfolio to highlight your academic and professional experience. Apply effective communication and strategies to build professional relationships with industry stakeholders and grow your network.
  • Gather the body of knowledge required to attempt the globally recognized New Product Development Professional Certification (NPDP), offered by the Product Management and Development Association (PDMA).

  • Develop the roadmap of a product or service that includes outlining its features and target market to help meet global company goals.

  • Bring the product to market; that includes launching the product, communicating product features to the company and potential customers and driving global demand for the product.
  • Explore research methods and analyze adequate and timely information that supports sound international business decision-making.
  • Understand the importance of cultural value dimensions in the global business environment and learn how to identify an organization's company culture and why it is important.
  • Demonstrate an international business plan, analyze viable advantages of a global market company, and evaluate the significance of engaging in partnerships and other associations.
  • Integrate relevant marketing functions, practices, and tools to address market entry and product lifecycle challenges. develop comprehensive strategic solutions to effectively address diverse market conditions in order to meet a company’s strategic goals.
  • Learn how to become a digital leader to adapt quickly to change, make data-driven decisions, and inspire and motivate teams to innovate and take risks. Use data and analytics technology to gain insight into customer behavior and create new business models, products, services, and experiences that drive business growth.

 

How you'll learn

Online learning

  • No set schedule: Classes are formatted in an asynchronous format, so you can continue focusing on what matters and study at a time that is convenient to you.
  • Bite-sized content: Course material is broken down into small digestible modules giving you the opportunity to learn on the go.

Admission

Domestic and International student admission requirements

  • Postsecondary college or university diploma/degree, preferably in a Tech or Business Program with solid mathematical foundations (international students without solid mathematical foundations are encouraged to apply to the Global Business Management Graduate Program - 967)
  • Equivalent work experience in a business or financial setting will be considered on an individual basis

Language Requirements for Applicants with English as a Second Language

  • IELTS Academic overall band of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT 88
  • CAEL 70, no sub-test band score less than 60
  • PTE Academic 58
  • Mohawk College English Language Test (Accuplacer: Assessment for Success) aligned with CAEL Band
  • Successful completion of the GAS-English for Academic Purposes (478 or 278) program. Placement in the GAS-EAP program is determined by scores on an in-house English language test or TOEFL or IELTS Academic.

Learning Outcomes

Program Learning Outcomes, often referred to as ‘Program Standards', set out the essential learning that a student must achieve before being deemed ready to graduate.

In many cases these program learning outcomes were developed by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) in consultation with employers and educators who are experts in the program field. To ensure the outcomes remain current and in line with industry needs, we invite our employers, graduates working in the field and current students to re-examine and update them during regular, ongoing program review focus groups.

These include technical product management, growth product management, product marketing management, UX product management, ecommerce product management, AI/ML product management, and mobile product management.
  • Technical Product Manager: Technical product managers are in high demand, especially in the tech industry. These product managers have a deep technical understanding of the product and are responsible for working closely with developers to ensure that the product meets technical requirements.
  • Growth Product Manager: growth product managers are responsible for driving user acquisition, retention, and engagement. They use data analytics and experimentation to identify growth opportunities and optimize the product to improve user engagement.
  • Product Marketing Manager: Product marketing managers are responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that promote the product and drive customer acquisition. They work closely with the product management team to develop go-to-market strategies and messaging.
  • UX Product Manager: UX product managers are responsible for creating an exceptional user experience for the product. They work closely with designers to ensure that the product is intuitive, user-friendly, and meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Ecommerce Product Manager: ecommerce product managers are in high demand, especially with the growth of e-commerce. These product managers are responsible for developing and optimizing e-commerce platforms to improve customer acquisition, retention, and revenue.
  • AI/ML Product Manager: with the growth of artificial intelligence and machine learning, there is an increasing demand for product managers with expertise in this area. These product managers are responsible for developing products that leverage AI/ML to improve user experience, increase efficiency, and drive revenue.
  • Mobile Product Manager: with the increasing use of mobile devices, mobile product managers are in high demand. These product managers are responsible for developing and optimizing mobile applications to improve user experience, increase engagement, and drive revenue.
  • Product Owner: ensure the functionality and value of products by setting, prioritizing and accepting the work that a team generates, as well as gathering feature requests, scheduling releases and coordinating sprints.
  • Junior Product Manager: build strategic product roadmaps that fit in with the overall strategy of the company through collaboration with the product team to define product vision, setting objectives and defining key results.
  • Associate Product Manager: conduct market research, gather quantitative product data and analyze customer research to help product managers work more effectively and efficiently.

MacBooks

MacBooks can be used however PC Platforms are preferred. Applications may not behave the same way as they do in Windows, students using MacBooks may need to make a hard-disk partition to allow Windows to run.
