Program Description
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry (Thesis) offered by the Department of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a research-intensive program that emphasizes research-based and demanding learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in original thinking, literature synthesis, and academic writing to either continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.
Unique Program Features
- Students may focus their research work in Chemical Biology, Human Systems Biology (Bioinformatics), Cancer Research/Oncology, and Structural Biology;
- The Department has a Harmonized Stipend Policy to ensure that every graduate student in the Faculty will be paid an adequate stipend;
- Students benefit from world class facilities: the Bellini Life Sciences Building and Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Research Institute, and the McIntyre Medical Sciences Building, together comprising one of the best-equipped research facilities in Canada.

- An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
