The experiential learning components and hands-on experiences built into this program definitely enhances your learning and adds useful tools to your belt. I really feel like I will be equipped with the knowledge and skills I need to enter the workforce.

Rahim Bardi, Fitness and Health Promotion student

The Fitness and Health Promotion program has prepared me for the industry through both the in class education and the experiences during labs and field placement. Being taught by instructors who have years of experience in the industry has allowed me to learn from their experiences and expand my knowledge past what I would find in a textbook. Spending time in labs has allowed me to apply my knowledge and practically experience the things I learned in theory. During placement I was able to sample a couple of the various career paths I could choose to work in after graduation. Graduating from this program allows me many options such as challenging certifications to become a personal trainer or group fitness instructor, and going on to pursue further education.

Rachel Germain, program graduate

The Fitness and Health Promotion program at Niagara College prepared me to successfully become a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and an OFC Certified Group Exercise and Resistance Training Instructor within a year after graduation. The two-year program was well paced. It provided me with enough time to gain in-depth knowledge in the classroom through “real-life” scenarios, clients, case studies, and placement opportunities prior to entering the workforce. My program instructors were informative and welcoming, I still keep in contact with them today.
