Dental Sciences (M.Sc.)

Program Description

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Dental Sciences (Non-Thesis) offered by the Faculty of Dental Medicine & Oral Health Sciences is a course-based program that emphasizes comprehensive and practical learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in literature review, critical thinking, and knowledge mobilization to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

Unique Program Features

  • The program focuses on research and/or clinical expertise to improve populational health, including diagnosis, prevention, monitoring and control. The program includes a practicum in an organization or a clinic implicated in providing public health services;
  • The program fosters access to integrated care, community service and engagement. Students bridge fundamental, applied and translational research to dental practice using creative knowledge transfer;
  • Faculty members possess expertise in a variety of disciplines and methodologies including: biomaterials, mathematics, cellular biology, neuroscience, epidemiology, medical anthropology, biochemistry, clinical trials, educational research, and community participatory research. Additional expertise is also concentrated in extracellular matrix, implants, bones, mineralized tissues, Indigenous patients, social and health care, cancer, skeletal biomechanics, bioimaging, and biomaterials.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
