What is “initial teacher education”?
The term “initial teacher education” describes a program of professional education taken in order to be eligible to become certified to teach in elementary or secondary schools. Our programs are specifically structured to meet the requirements of the Ontario College of Teachers (the licensing authority for teachers in Ontario).

About the Consecutive
Bachelor of Education Program
For 2014-15, the Consecutive Bachelor of Education is a one-year second-entry professional program taken in order to become certified to teach in elementary or secondary schools. The completion of a prior university Bachelor’s degree (four years or equivalent in duration) with an average in the "B" range is required for admission.

Return home after only one year, as a Canadian qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto!
