Career Description

An influencer is someone with a specific niche who posts and interacts with others frequently on one or more social media platforms with a dedicated following. They have the power to generate interest in something (such as a consumer product) by posting about it on social media.

Duties May Include

An influencer uses their platform to promote their niche content and advertise products.


A successful influencer posts daily, weekly, and monthly content on multiple platforms while interacting and engaging with their followers.


It is beneficial for influencers to network with other influencers in order to grow their audience.


Influencers are able to make money by expanding their audience and selling product related to their niche, and also by partnering with brands and promoting their products.

Where They Work

Most influencers are considered to be self-employed; however, a lot of the money that they make comes from brand partnerships and marketing agencies.


Hours

Influencers do not work a traditional 9-5 job, instead their hours are flexible. They work all hours of the day, every day of the week in order to maintain their following. An influencer must consistently engage with their community by creating content and responding to messages and comments.
