Career Description

Fundraising consultants develop and implement communication and promotion strategies and information programs, publicize activities and events, and maintain media relations on behalf of businesses, governments and other organizations, and for performers, athletes, writers and other talented individuals.

Duties May Include

Fundraising consultants, considered specialists in public relations and communications, may perform some or all of the following duties:

Develop, implement, and evaluate communications strategies/programs to inform clients, employees, and the public of initiatives/policies of businesses, government, and other organizations;

Gather, research, and prepare communications material and co-ordinate special publicity events/promotions for in-house/public audiences;

Conduct public opinion/attitude surveys to identify client interest groups;

Prepare or oversee the preparation of reports, briefs, bibliographies, speeches, presentations, websites, and press releases;

Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events for publicity, fundraising, and other information purposes;

Prepare and deliver educational/publicity programs and information materials to increase awareness of museums, galleries, and other tourist attractions;

Initiate and maintain contact with the media;

Arrange interviews/news conferences;

Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters, and other material;

Represent and act as agents for, and prepare or oversee, contract preparations for talented individuals or for those with occupational expertise.
