Experience Local Culture

A world-class education is not the only thing to look forward to when you study at a top Canadian university like Waterloo.

As with any place you travel to, there’s so much to experience in the local culture. But unlike travelling to a destination on vacation, studying abroad really allows you to become part of the culture.

So where to start? Waterloo’s International and Canadian Student Network (ICSN) is about connecting Canadian students with international and exchange students at Waterloo. Along with hosting social events on campus, they also plan trips to Canadian sites like Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Of course, there are way more clubs than just the ICSN at Waterloo. In fact, there are over 200 clubs to choose from. Whether it’s salsa dancing, cooking, or anything in between, you won’t have trouble finding something fun to try out and meet new people doing it.

Are you looking to get your blood pumping? Waterloo has many athletic clubs, including archery, fencing, Muay Thai, and much more.

Getting involved with your student societies or volunteering for campus events is another one of the top ways to put yourself right in the middle of Waterloo’s vibrant student life. Not only do you get to be a part of some amazing events, you also have the opportunity to make another student’s experience even better as well!

With all it has to offer, Waterloo will be more than just a destination or a university, it will be the chance to experience a new kind of life.
