Description:Aspiring to a career as a practicing professional artist? Our Visual Studies program offers you a focused studio experience. We are here to support your artistic and intellectual development.

As a Visual Studies graduate, you'll be prepared for career opportunities in areas such as the non-profit sector, public museums and private art galleries, commercial photography or design, art gallery assistant or technician and interior design. A Visual Studies degree can also be used as a stepping-stone to graduate studies in visual art or another professional degree such as architecture, design, art therapy, or education.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.

    • 3 approved courses
    • An approved course or option

    Only one of Art, Dance, Drama or Music can be used in calculating the admission average


    Equivalent International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP) courses or previously completed SAT2 subject tests are accepted.

    Test Scores:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 86] or DuoLingo [min. 115] or Pearson Test of English (Academic) [min. 60] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

    If you are a High School student applying for Early Admission, submit your online portfolio by January 15.



    If you are applying for Regular Admission, submit your online portfolio by March 1.



    If you are a current Visual Studies student and are applying to the Honours program, submit your online portfolio by March 1.
