| Description: | The Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical and Computer Engineering program incorporates coursework and a research project which is supervised by a member of the department. Many students find that the additional qualification boosts their career trajectory, while for others it is a pathway to further research and the PhD degree. The Master of Engineering (MEng) is a terminal degree that combines coursework and an engineering project and does not provide access to a PhD program. |

In specific cases where the academic background of the student is judged to be insufficient, the department may recommend that the student be admitted to a pre-master’s program of study. The pre-master’s program is designed to bring the student’s standing to approximately the level of an Honours graduate in the ECE department, and to provide any necessary prerequisites for courses. The pre-master’s program is not meant for those students with GPAs below the university's or department's minimum requirement or who have not passed an English language examination. |
