The two-year accelerated Early Learning and Child Care Program provides comprehensive training for individuals seeking to specialize in the field of child development, specifically targeting children ranging from birth to eight years of age, with additional preparatory components for working with children aged eight to twelve. Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    A minimum of 50% in ELA 30-1 or 65% in ELA 30-2, or equivalent or A minimum score of 250 on the Reading component, 250 on the Writing component and 5 on the WritePlacer Test; OR Previous completion of three College-level courses with a minimum GPA of 2.0.

    Government requires people who work directly with young children to have a current immunization record and a Police Information Check. Information about obtaining Criminal Record checks will be provided to students after they have been admitted to the program. Some programs may require medical examinations, as well.
    Application Notes : Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency in addition to the program admission requirements. All English Language Proficiency tests must have been obtained within two years of the start date of the program. Approved tests are: IELTS academic and Duolingo. International Students who are admitted to this program must complete their Medical Authorization as required by Citizenship and Immigration Canada one month prior to the start of classes.
