|Are you interested in how people learn new languages? Explore theories and issues in additional-language teaching and learning. You'll get teaching experience in our language-teaching practicum and you’ll observe seasoned teachers in the classroom.
Diploma applicants must complete a UVic bachelor degree or equivalent before admission to the Applied Linguistics Diploma Program.
Students who have completed the UVic degree in Applied Linguistics or its equivalent may not register.

Applicants must have completed a University of Victoria Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent including at least 6 units of courses in English and 6 units of modern second language courses.
- Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]
