Highly-trained community health professionals are in demand by local, regional, provincial and federal health departments. The Community Health Sciences (MSc) program provides a multidisciplinary experience in the concepts and methods of population-based health sciences and its application in the practice of population health, public health and preventive medicine. Students will receive training in the core areas of epidemiology, biostatistics and the social sciences as they apply to health.

    The following are minimum requirements to be considered for entry into the Community Health Sciences (MSc) program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

    To be considered for admission to the Community Health Sciences (MSc) program, you must have:

    • A four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last two full years of study.
    • A satisfactory English language proficiency test score, if applicable. Higher English language test scores are normally required to be competitive in the admissions review process, particularly for the writing band of these specific English language tests:
    • IELTS: An overall score of at least 7, must include all components of the test (i.e., listening, reading, writing and speaking), where the writing band is not lower than a score of 7.
    • TOEFL (iBT): a minimum total score of 92 is required, with a writing score no lower than 21
    • If an applicant does not meet these writing score requirements, the Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP) is accepted if completed prior to starting the program.
