Description:Music is a prominent aspect of the Christian faith tradition, and also of our communities, culture, and world. Studying music in a Christian environment allows students to combine their faith and their musical interests. Graduates of the program will be able to have the skills for professional musical leadership in church, school, or communities. Critical thinking, problem solving, and practical skills in music theory and music history are developed through the coursework. Students also learn effective performance skills in ensembles and in solo work. Those who desire to pursue further study in music will be well prepared to do so.

There are no prerequisites for the general music major program, however students must maintain a grade of C or better in all music courses. The music program will enable the students to pursue additional undergraduate programs as well as graduate studies in any music discipline.

Admission Requirements

  •  Grade12 English 
The academic prerequisite for admission to a three and four year degree program is a satisfactory provincial senior high school certificate. Included in the high school certificate should be a minimum of five credits at the grade 12 level, with a minimum of three credits in university preparatory courses, including at least one English.
Application Notes : English is the language of instruction at Providence. All students whose mother tongue is not English must submit an official test score (TOEFL or IELTS score) as part of their application.
