|Description:||The Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate program provides training in traditional administrative skills and legal procedures.
In the program, you will learn about civil and family litigation, wills and probate, corporate law, conveyancing and mortgaging from instructors with backgrounds in the legal industry.
CapU's Legal Administrative Assistant program has three ways to study: a full-time option of the January 2022 intake (Term 1) will be delivered online synchronously, and Term 2 will also be offered online synchronously in Summer 2022; a full-time option of the September intake (Term 1) will be delivered in-person in Fall 2022, and Term 2 will be offered in-person at the North Vancouver campus in January 2022; and a part-time online option (September) intake.
You'll also gain real-world experience through a two-week practicum placement in a private law firm or government agency.

|Application Notes : ||Capilano English Language Requirement for students whose primary language is not English or have received education in a language other than English: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): paper=560, internet=83, or English Language Assessment (ELA)=145, or International English Language Testing System (Academic IELTS)=6.5 overall, and no one score less than 6, or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)=70, or Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic)=56 or Capilano University EAP 100 and 101 with a minimum B+ grade in each course.

- LGST English Diagnostic Test (minimum score of 31/50 is required)
- Keyboarding test (minimum 45 wpm touch typing)
- LGST English Diagnostic and Keyboarding tests must be completed at an Information Session or invigilated online
Current Grade 12 students can be conditionally accepted based on final Grade 11 grades or interim Grade 12 grades. Students can upload proof of grades (e.g. unofficial transcripts, copies of report cards) through EducationPlannerBC when applying to Capilano University. Final acceptance will be based on high school graduation and having met the program specific requirements.
