|Description:||Graduates of this one-year certificate program learn the skills required to provide assistance for daily living activities such as personal care and hygiene, household and family management, nutrition, assisting with medications and palliative and restorative activities. As part of their training, students have the opportunity to practice what they have learned through supervised placements in both institutional and community settings.
Personal Support Workers are valued members of the health care team and are employed by agencies providing services to clients in their homes, and by institutions such as nursing homes, retirement residences and long-term care facilities, schools, group homes, and hospitals.
Students graduate with an Ontario College Certificate.
