Description:The Masters in Archaeology provides graduate students with the advanced theoretical and methodological tools they need for independent research and future employment in cultural resource management and other heritage-related industries. Students appreciate the collegial environment of the department and opportunities for practical experience in both field and lab. Thanks to the varied research interests of our faculty, graduate students can be supervised in thesis research in Bioarchaeology, Historical Archaeology, Geoarchaeology, Zooarchaeology and Computer Applications amongst others. Our geographic emphasis is on the Plains and Boreal forest region, giving a strong sense of place to student study and making our program distinctive amongst western Canadian universities archaeology programs.

Admission Requirements

Grade for Entrance Previous Year (%)*70
Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    A four-year honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in archaeology or anthropology, or a related discipline. A cumulative weighted average of at least a 70% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units). A course in archaeological method and theory.
