Preference will be given to applicants with relevant paid or volunteer work experience.

Applicants should also include a résumé including work and volunteer experience with applicable dates, membership in groups, associations or athletics, awards and distinctions, and any other information about yourself relevant to the program. The program and occupational field require students to lift, move and transfer clients. Students are also required to conduct frequent handwashing, use soaps/lotions for bathing clients and be exposed to cleaning and sanitizing chemicals. Students who suffer from food allergies should also be aware that they are required to assist in feeding clients and are therefore exposed to a wide variety of foods. Finally, students will require access to transportation during their training, in particular during their on-the-job training.
