|Description:||The Continuing Care Assistant Program provides the knowledge and skills you need to move into this rewarding field. It is a 32-week certificate program that combines hands-on classroom learning with practical clinical experience. Practicums provide direct experience in home care, long-term care, special care and acute care settings.

Applicants require Grade 12 or a GED. They must have the personal and physical suitability to perform activities in the practicum settings. Student must have First Aid and CPR C prior to Practicum Placement. Security clearance may be required for practicums and clinical experiences.

- Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED is required prior to the start of the program and must be current to the year of the program

Effective July 1, 2019: Accepted applicants are required to provide evidence of 2015 WHMIS Globally Harmonized System (GHS) certification upon admission into the program. Recertification will be required every three years to remain current. The cost of WHMIS certification is your responsibility
