Description:Through this program, students will discover corporate communications; explore media relations, electronic publishing, and crisis communication; understand various publics, including special interest groups; learn to use technological media; experience PR planning; and develop skills in PR writing. Accreditation is available through the Canadian Public Relations Society and the International Association of Business Communicators after a number of years in the industry.

Graduates may find career opportunities in professional organizations and societies; government (local, municipal, and regional); other not-for-profits, such as education, health care, religious organizations, police, libraries; corporations; public relations agencies; and advertising/marketing/promotional agencies.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants must have one of the following: a university degree in Communications, Contemporary Studies, Business, English, or Filmstudies; a college diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Business, General Arts, Media; or a combination of education and work experience deemed equivalent by the College. A résumé and transcripts may be required. Additional information, such as references or published documents, is optional. Students are required to lease a laptop computer for use during this program.
