Admission Requirements

Prerequisites:*These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Applicants for the Master's programme must hold a B.Eng., B.Sc., or M.D. degree from a recognized university and have a sufficiently high academic standing to be admitted. Undergraduate background should include at least:

    two years (12 credits) of mathematics beyond calculus, such as differential equations, complex variables, linear algebra, and probability or statistics; and

    two years (12 credits) of university-level physics as taught at McGill, or their equivalent, such as specialized engineering courses, computer-science courses, or physical or analytical chemistry. (‘University-level’ is based on the Québec system, where students normally do two years of college, or CÉGEP, between secondary school and university.)
    Test Scores:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 100] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7]
