In the School of Social Work at King’s, you'll be actively engaged in an inclusive and student-centred learning environment. You'll learn in small classes that focus on the “art and science” of social work and receive an education geared toward critical thinking and complex practice skills. You'll develop professional and practice knowledge, skills, and values to become an ethical, critically reflective, and proficient social work practitioner, researcher and advocate for transformative change within your community.

10.0 courses with an overall average of 70% consisting of:

• 2.0 courses with a minimum grade of 70% in each of these:
• SW 1025A/B - Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare
• SW 1026A/B - Introduction to Social Work Practice and Communication Skills
• SW 2216A/B - Introduction to Generalist Social Work Practice and Theories
• Writing 1020F/G or 2101F/G or 2260F/G or 1032 or 1025F/G (or Writing 1002F/G + 1022F/G) or (Writing 1011F/G + 1021F/G)  

• 0.5 course with a minimum grade of 60% in:
• SW 2206A/B - Research Methods for Social Workers (or equivalent) (King’s or Western Approved Equivalent Courses: Childhood and Youth Studies 3311F/G; Disability Studies 2224; Family Studies 2300F/G; Health Sciences 2801A/B; Psychology 2800E; Psychology 2820E; Psychology 2840F/G; Psychology 2855F/G; Nursing 3319A/B, Sociology 2206A/B; Thanatology 2201F/G); Other courses will be considered upon request and provision of a detailed course syllabus

• 7.5 additional courses in :
• 0.5 course from Category B (Arts and Humanities) - in addition to the Writing course
• 1.0 course from Category C (Science)
• 6.0 additional courses in any subject
