|Description:||Well, some Bishop’s graduates have pursued careers as scholars, teachers, arts administrators, and composers, as well as performers, both classical and pop. Others have taken their B.A. and gone in a completely different direction. Some students just want to pursue their love of music, without making it a career. So why not major in music, as well as another subject?
The Secondary Teacher Education Program at Bishop’s University is a two step program leading to two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Sciences (B.Sc.) with a Double Major (Education and a teaching discipline) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) This combination of degrees is required in order to be eligible for a Quebec teaching permit or “brevet d’enseignement.” This degree only certifies you to teach in the province of Quebec. If you are planning to teach in another province, it is your responsibility to contact the Ministry of Education in that province to see what additional courses are required to certify you to teach in their province.
|Cost per year:*||
Cost estimate is per 30 credits. Please note that a “typical” course will be worth 3 credits and that most students will take 5 courses per semester for a total of 30 credits over one academic year (September to April). Bishop’s also offers a condensed Spring session (May and June).
